Typically, Nicholson self-performs a large percentage of the work, so effective project management is crucial to our success.
The ability to accurately design, manage, and execute commercial carpentry projects has brought us a great deal of success.

This position will be responsible for the coordination and workflow of all new and existing contracts from bid invite and acceptance to job close-out.
This position will work in conjunction with the PM's to ensure processes are being followed and administrative tasks are being completed in a timely manner.

Primary responsibilities include:
Coordination and implementation of submittals - knowledge of spec books.
Maintain accurate submittal logs.
LEED documentation including research and spreadsheet upkeep.
Coordination & correspondence with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain proper documents in conjunction with accounting/contract admin.
Organize and maintain project documents internally and in the cloud for coordination with the field.
Liaison with project managers, subcontractors & suppliers to ensure objectives are met.
Assist PM's with entering T&M tickets and change orders as needed; coordinate with accounting to ensure all ticket work is properly invoiced in a timely manner.
Assist PM's with material orders, enter & issue material PO's, update PO's for changes to delivery amounts and/or pricing changes, as needed.
Weekly review and distribution of pending change order logs to GC's.
Continuous follow up with GC's & PM's to ensure change orders are being approved and that request for change order logs are updated to reflect changes/comments etc.
in a timely manner.
Coordinate warranties & close outs for all jobs.
Responsible for ensuring all required documents are compiled and sent to GC in a timely manner.
Upkeep of pending/approved change order binders for GC meetings.
Attend job meetings including pre-construction, project, staff meetings.
Special projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of 3 years' current experience with a commercial contractor or general contractor.
Experience with SAGE construction accounting software preferred.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook and other relevant computer skills.
Familiarity with AutoDesk Build, PlanGrid, or similar Cloud Construction Management software preferred.
Knowledge of reading specs and drawings.
Understanding of construction terminology, material types and ability to communicate effectively within the construction environment.
In depth knowledge of carpentry construction means and methods.
Strong work ethic, detail oriented, organized, professional and reliable Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Education:
Preferably a BS in Construction Management, or similar.
