DescriptionJob Description Systems Reliability Engineer (Claims)As a Systems Reliability Engineer, you play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, resiliency, and scalability of Chubb's claim platforms through the design and implementation of application and platforms.
You will drive continuous improvement of system infrastructure, automation, monitoring, and incident response.
You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify and address current and potential technical issues, while also actively seeking ways to optimize and enhance our platforms and applications.
Your primary job responsibilities include:
Drive the design and deployment of scalable and reliable claims systems that meet SLAs and mitigate risks in collaboration with architects and engineers.
Design and implement multiple types of monitoring to analyze system performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and optimize system resource utilization.
Re-engineer current system deployments to optimize performance and to improve availability and resiliency.
Enable resilient designs for claim systems to minimize down time and improve disaster recoverability with minimal data loss.
Proactively identify and remediate system-related technical and operational issues.
Automate manual processes and recurring tasks with scripting and tooling.
Document processes, configurations, and proceduresActively participate in calls to resolve degraded performance or availability incidents for critical systems that impact business.
Note that regular on-call support is not expected of this role.
QualificationsTechnical Experience and
Qualifications:
Experience and knowledge of monitoring and logging tools with proven background using them to analyze and improve system reliability.
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and/or Windows administration concepts and practices.
Knowledge and experience with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc)Background and practical experience with designing scalable and resilient business systems.
Working knowledge of application and system reliability design patterns.
Bachelor's degree in computer science /engineering or a related field.

years of experience in a systems engineering or related role.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
